Step 1: Documents are prepared through selection and  sorted through. They are then categorized and physically indexed.

Step 2: Records go through the scanning process

Step 3: Records are converted to the various media of choice to enable easy storage and sharing.

Step 4: Records are indexed electronically.

Step 5: Records are managed on the selected platform of storage and made available on media of choice. Security permission are set to restrict access.
